The Tile Talk

Titchfield History Society committee member, Marilyn Wilton-Smith, welcomes new members and reports on the latest talk.

She says, “What a fantastic start to our new Season, new set up on arrival, with refreshments served and time for a natter and to browse the books and information board.

“Then onto a great talk by Tom Chamberlain on medieval tiles, especially the ones we have in the Abbey, some of which he says are quite rare.

“He followed this with a demonstration on how he and a few others are keeping the craft of making the tiles alive.

“Tom carries out classes on making the tiles if you are interested he does have a facebook page.”

THS next meeting is on 20th October and will be a talk on Fareham’s Chimney Pots by Martin Percival.

Doors open at 7.00p.m. for tea and coffee and talk commences at 7.30p.m
